12 Best Tractor Mods of All Sizes – Farming Simulator 22
12 Best Tractor Mods of All Sizes – Farming Simulator 22
Are you playing Farming Simulator 22 – but are not really feeling the tractors available to you? Well then, you’re in luck: because on this list, we will cover some of the best FS22 tractor mods out there.
This post will not divide tractors by anything, including sizes, you’ll find just about anything here – from something under 100 HP, to models going way above 500. So, without further ado, let’s take a look and see which tractor mods are the best on FS22
- John Deere 8030 Series
- Fendt 700 and 800 Vario
- Massey Ferguson 8S
- Fendt 900 Vario (Gen 7)
- Deutz-Fahr 9 Series
- Valtra S Series
- Massey Ferguson 8700S
- Case IH Optum Series
- Valtra A Series 4
- Massey Ferguson 3600 and Landini 19500
- Challenger MT 900 E ML
- Case IH MXM 190
Here’s what makes them special:
1. John Deere 8030 Series
Power: 240-360 HP Modder: Udruzenje Nezavisnih Modera
Base Price: 185,000 Errors: None found
This was one of the most popular mods on FS19. And after a pretty seamless conversion to FS22 – it’s back on the newest game as well. As it’s a conversion made by the modder himself, it’s basically a flawless version.
Its killer feature is definitely the customization. You get a lot of options on how you can edit your machine:
- All the wheels and seats from each and every brand available on FS22
- Different warning signs, lights, and blinkers.
- Linkage with PTO or weight brackets available on the front
- A whopping 15 different options for engine and gearbox
This specific John Deere 8030 Series mod is also really good for adapting to different countries. There are pre-made design options for the US, EU, Australia, and Canada, suited to exactly reflect how these versions look in real life. You can also change these models to:
- Swivel the driver seat slightly to the right hand side
- Raise and lower the front of the tractor
All in all, however, the 8030 simply looks good. It sounds great, too – and while I don’t think these are the real engine sounds, that’s still an excellent realistic package.
2. Fendt 700 and 800 Vario
Power: 115-280 HP Modder: WhyLineZ
Base Price: 129.200 Errors: No
Giants Software did not originally create these models to be in the game. However, it’s been here for a while – with the earliest versions going all the way back to FS15. But it doesn’t mean that this model is an old wreck in the new game – it’s fully updated, and better than ever, fully suited to be used on the newest version of the game with no noticeable problems.
Better than ever – especially when you turn up the sound and listen. Both 700 and 800 versions take full advantage of the excellent FS22 engine. They sound great, and most importantly – realistic. Just like the LED lights, that make this tractor look just like the real thing.
3. Massey Ferguson 8S
Power: 225-325 HP Modder: Schnibbi Modding
Base Price: 202,000 Errors: No
Massey Ferguson 8S is a true mod (read: modification!) in FS22. Meaning that it already exists in the game, but the modder took their time to give this excellent tractor a lot more additional features.
Therefore now, Massey Ferguson 8S can be changed like this:
- Wheels are fully adaptable with many configuration options
- Warnings signs can be fully changed
- Colors of the tractor’s wheel rims and body can be adjusted
But by far the most exciting thing here is the animations. You can now open doors, windows, and sunroof, just like in the real model. Plus, the steering column will fold, depending on whether you enter or leave the tractor.
And while some complain that the developers themselves should’ve made this a standard feature, we’re just happy that there are some great modders plugging the holes and improving on the base game.
It’s just a shame that the sound system doesn’t play together with the mod: as of now, the sound coming from the tractor is the same, whether your doors are open or not. Here’s hoping that changes soon.
4. Fendt 900 Vario (Gen 7)
Power: 296-415 HP Modder: Schnibbi Modding
Base Price: 280,000 Errors: No
This tractor also exists on FS22 – and it’s a very good modification of the existing model, giving you a lot more to work with. This version adds a good number of additional features, such as:
- Animated windows and doors
- Automatically folding steering column
- Folding and unfolding warning signs
Plus, this large version of the Fendt tractor includes a good number of exciting customization options. Beacon light placement is custom, giving you a good number of additional options. Body and the rims can be colored with various custom colors, and there are plenty of wheels to pick from.
But honestly, animations are the best thing here. The folding/unfolding animations of the warning signs are the best – as well as the fully animated hand throttle.
5. Deutz-Fahr 9 Series
Power: 290-340 HP Modder: RedCat3D
Base Price: 280,000 Errors: No
Deutz-Fahr 9 Series tractors were among some of the most popular tractors on FS19. Which makes it all the more baffling to see it not available on the base game of FS22.
Luckily, RedCat3D is here to help. This machine is fully converted to work with FS22 – with no noticeable issues, as well as some really cool upgrades, something always nice to see in a newer mod.
The textures are all incredibly detailed and looking like a proper FS22 mod should. Plus, with an important sound update, it sounds exactly how 300 horsepower should.
Shop customizations are not bad, too. There are options for different wheels, color and design options (including the popular Warrior design), as well as four different engine customizations.
6. Valtra S Series
Power: 300-405 HP Modder: Bubber Drumm
Base Price: 252,000 Errors: No
Valtra S Series is a yet another FS22 tractor mod that didn’t make it on the base game – despite being available on FS19. Well, not to worry – modder Bubber Drumm nicely updated the existing FS19 Valtra mod to suit the newest version of the game.
It looks just as, if not more exciting than the official FS19 version. The sound is excellent, and you can purchase a good deal of various wheel configurations from all manufacturers. There are also color picker options for rims and the body, as well as 6 engine customizations.
7. Massey Ferguson 8700S
Power: 300-405 HP Modder: Blauea
Base Price: 250,000 Errors: No
It’s a tractor. It’s big, it’s red, and for some reason, it’s not on FS22. That’s right – it’s the MF 8700, suspiciously missing from the base game. Luckily, it’s still out there: on the Downloadable Content section, available as a mod.
This Massey Ferguson model is an S-model – this is a letter reserved to a more exclusive, expensive version of the base model. The 6 different versions go from 300 to 405 horsepower, and allow you to change the wheels. The doors and the windows open, and the animations can be controlled with a controller and a mouse.
And the sounds are great – as well as very much realistic, compared to the real-life version. Overall, it’s an excellent example of bringing an older mod up to the updated standards. Good job!
8. Case IH Optum Series
Power: 288 and 313 HP Modder: Chefkoch
Base Price: 240,000 Errors: No
Giants Software have been very trigger-happy on FS22. This is a yet another excellent tractor that was available on FS19, but is entirely missing on FS22. Well, no more – a good week after the game was released, a fully updated mod for Chefkoch was already there. And oh, we love what we see.
Visually, it’s an improvement on the FS19 model. Sound-wise, it’s perfectly adapted to the FS22’s audio system, although I doubt that they come from the original model. But still, the sound is rather realistic and if you don’t know how the real thing sounds, you’ll barely spot any difference whatsoever.
Sadly, there aren’t that many customization options out there. But you still get your fair share of custom beacon lights.
9. Valtra A Series 4
Power: 75-130 HP Modder: Thierry Gamer
Base Price: 53,100 Errors: No
A Series 4 Valtra was a tiny, but mighty tractor in the garages of many FS19 players. And of course, it was gone from FS22. ThierryGamer has our backs – and now, there’s a mod that can bring this pint-sized machine to the newest game.
Personally, I love how many customization options you can do in the shop. You can do a lot of different changes to the base model of this tractor, such as:
- The color of the body and interior can be changed
- Even the driver’s seat can be changed to a different colorway
- You get options for standard lights, Xenon, and LED
There are also options for front loader mounts, and weight brackets. Overall, pretty exciting.
10. Massey Ferguson 3600 and Landini 19500
Power: 170-190 HP Modder: Sham130
Base Price: 97,000 Errors: No
The base game includes the Massey Ferguson 3670 tractor. This mod gives you the extended 3680 and 3690 options on top of that.
Plus, on this mod, you get the Landini 19500 model as well. What gives? Well – in 1959, MF bought Landini. Some MF models were made in the Italian Landini factory. Same way, some Maldinis were made in the French MF plant. And so, the same tractor models from different manufacturers can use the same parts.
I like the different Masseys – as well as enjoy the opportunity to try the rarer Landini 19500. If you love the history of agriculture, you’ll love this mod.
11. Challenger MT 900 E ML
Power: 536-646 HP Modder: HoT Online Team
Base Price: 425,000 Errors: No
This massive tractor is so big, it didn’t actually fit in the FS22 game! Is that true? Probably not – but how else could you explain it?
Well, it could have something to do with AGCO, parent company of Fendt and Challenger, choosing Fendt as the flagship brand for American markets. Challenger models dressed in Fendt colors are not a surprise anymore – but the fact is, this model is now not in the base game. But you can get it with a mod!
The mod is realistic, but there aren’t many custom features. You can pick from 3 engine models (up to 646 HP), and get a white or red Challenger logo. And there are still numerous different color options, as well as four Trelleborg wheel picks.
12. Case IH MXM 190
Power: 190-235 HP Modder: My GameSteam
Base Price: 68,000 Errors: Some
The older mod of this model wouldn’t have made this on this list – but this one does. The reason is simple: small audio changes. It’s great when dealing with engine audio, and there’s a good difference between cab and outdoor view. Interior makes noise too, which is noticeable when on rough terrain.
However, there are still some issues I’d like to address. At 75 km/h, the top speed is way too high. The dashboard is not very useful. Also, there are too many color options, which is a very minor problem that’s easy to spot.
If that’s not a problem, it’s still an excellent model to pick or search more mods in FS22 Tractors mods category.
