Farming Simulator 22 – Get the best harvesting profit

The best methods for getting the best harvest on Farming Simulator 2019, have been once again improved for the new game. Here are some of the main things you should know:

Plowing

Naturally, this remains mostly the same as it was in Farming Simulator 19 – the developers didn’t mess with the working system. The fields need to be plowed 3 times, if it’s not the rooted produce you’re making. For corn, sugar beets, sugar canes, or potatoes, plowing is required immediately after the harvesting, as you will lose 15%, unless you decide to plow

Liming

In order to add nutrients to your soil, liming is required. If done regularly, it can give you a return increase of around 15%.

Fertilization

Fertilization is also seriously important. On Farming Simulator 22, fields ideally need to be fertilized twice in order to increase the yield a much as possible. Liquid and solid fertilizer work, so does the manure and liquid manure from animals. If using a BGA, digestate can immediately be used as fertilizer. Rolling is a new feature available on FS22, this method is used for meadows, but only the first fertilization level is actually used.

Spraying

Weeds will take all of their nutrients from your soil – the same soil you need for your crops! So, drastic weeding can have big negative effects for your crops. To avoid that, you’ll need to use a harrow or a field sprayer, so that the weeds are not given an option to grow out.

If not, and your field is overridden with weeds, 20% of harvest will be deducted.

Bee

That’s right – bees are now in Farming Simulator 22. They pollinate the plants, and help increase your overall yield. Place the beehouse at the edge of the field, for the entire sector to receive a bonus. It varies, depending on the crop. Sunflowers get a whopping 5%. Rapeseed and potatoes get 2-3%.

Mulching

Another new feature in Farming Simulator 22 is the soil mulching. It helps increase the quality of the soil and in turn, your overall yield. After a good harvest, give the remaining stems and stalk a mow, and turn it into nutrients that help your field. This will give you a 5% increase for the next harvest.

Rollers

Rolling the soil will help compact it, giving it additional support and helping to increase the yield. However, there is no data on specific numbers, and just how much the rolling actuall helps.

Bonsilage

This additive is used for both maize and animal feed. By using it in the machibes, you can give your yield a 5% increase.

Stones

Maybe not the most welcome change, but certainly a realistic one – stones will make you get less income over time, as they wear out your machinery, making it work considerably slower. And as the old saying goes, time is money. You know how that one goes.
