Moisture System V2.0.0.3 FS25

Moisture System V2.0.0.3 FS25
Transform your farming experience with a sophisticated moisture and quality simulation system that brings realism and strategic depth to Farming Simulator 25. This comprehensive mod introduces dynamic moisture mechanics and crop quality tracking that fundamentally change how you approach crop management, harvest timing, and storage decisions.
Experience authentic environmental interactions where moisture levels fluctuate naturally across your farm based on terrain elevation, prevailing weather patterns (rainfall, snowfall, temperature fluctuations), and day/night cycles. Fields at lower elevations stay wetter while higher ground dries faster, so consider moisture levels when planning which crops to plant where and when to harvest. Every farming decision gains new weight as you balance optimal timing against changing conditions.
Advanced Crop Quality System: Each harvested load receives a quality rating (0-100) based on its moisture content at harvest. Quality determines your sell price and degrades over time when crops are stored above their ideal moisture level. Sell wet crops and you’ll incur drying charges on top of reduced prices. Use the silo drying system to reduce moisture and halt quality loss before selling. Each crop species has unique optimal moisture windows and quality-to-price bands calibrated to real-world agricultural standards. Access quality tables, price grades, and seasonal moisture projections through the in-game menu (Shift+M).
Features:
– Regional weather simulation: choose a weather profile matching your region, with realistic seasonal patterns and yearly variation that directly impacts harvest timing and requires forward planning. See the guide on GitHub to create your own.
– Terrain-aware field moisture simulation driven by the active weather profile, with monthly variation patterns that reflect real regional climates
– Crop quality system: quality set at harvest, degrades hourly when stored above ideal moisture, drives sell price per crop-specific grade bands
– Silo drying: walk up to any silo and activate drying to reduce moisture over time. Costs scale with volume and are cheaper than selling wet.
– Drying charges at point of sale for crops above ideal moisture, shown as a separate finance entry
– Sophisticated grass management system featuring progressive tedding mechanics, weather-responsive drying rates, and automatic hay conversion at optimal moisture thresholds. Multiple tedding passes accelerates drying if you need it.
– Ground rot: Grass and straw piles left exposed accumulate rain exposure over time, triggering progressive volume loss as organic material deteriorates. Timing your collection and baling operations becomes critical. Hay will revert to grass if it gets too wet.
– Bale rotting: Unprotected bales track cumulative rain exposure with initial tolerance periods, escalating decay rates based on exposure history, and limited recovery during dry spells. Strategic use of wrapping and shelter infrastructure protects your investment.
– Purchase the moisture meter hand tool in the store for precise field and pile readings on demand (You can display this in the HUD if preferred).
Extensive customization options allow you to calibrate moisture dynamics, quality decay rates, drying speed, tedding efficiency, and decay parameters to match your preferred gameplay experience. Whether you seek hardcore realism or a gentler introduction to moisture management, the system adapts to your vision.
Note: The mod is not compatible with the following mods: NonStopCrop, RealisticWeather
V2.0.0.3
– Tuned some weather profiles to properly account for how weather like thunder impacts moisture.
– Grain drying is now instigated within the Moisture Menu (Shift + M) rather than pressing a key when near the silo. This avoids some issues with some silos, whilst also providing more information.
– Durations of weather spells are now scaled based on the number of days per month. This helps planning fieldwork around weather introduced in v2.
– The moisture impact charts can now be hovered over with the mouse to show specific yield and quality values for a given moisture level.
– The moisture system now controls weather. Choose a Weather Profile that matches your region in game settings. Many maps have appropriate defaults configured within the mod. Weather includes variability that simulates realistic seasonal patterns. This impacts your harvest and requires even more planning than before.
– Moisture now impacts yield as well as quality. This is not necessarily more punishing – generally, crops that are too dry will yield badly and crops that are too wet will yield well but with poor quality.
– You can write your own weather profiles if you like. Visit GitHub and follow the guide.
– The moisture calendar has been replaced with a Weather information view, showing seasonal forecasts and historical weather data.
– The moisture-to-quality UI has been replace with Moisture Impact. This shows the impact of moisture on yield and quality for a given crop.
– Generally eased material rotting, both for bales and ground piles. Material will take longer to begin to rot, and rot more slowly.
– Fixed an issue with grain drying not starting in multiplayer games.
– Vehicles and silos with crop in will now show the current grade of the crop in the HUD. Previously, only moisture and quality were shown.
– Added optimisations on how weather impacts ground piles to improve performance for lower-end machines.
– The impact of weather is now scaled based on the number of days per month.
– Drying charges are no longer applied when depositing into your own selling station.
– Existing crop that predates the moisture mod will now be assigned 100% quality and ideal moisture when first interacted with.
– Tightened the rate of crop drying so large volumes of crop do not take forever to dry.
