USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78) V1.0.0.0 FS25
The USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78) is an aircraft carrier of the United States Navy. It gives its name to its class, composed in principle of three aircraft carriers: the Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78), the John F. Kennedy (CVN-79)[4] and the Enterprise (CVN-80).[5][6] It was named in honor of the 38th President of the United States Gerald R. Ford.
She was laid down on November 13, 2009 at Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding in a ceremony attended by Susan Ford Bales, daughter of Gerald R. Ford[1] and launched on November 9, 2013.[2]
Its construction was commissioned to replace the USS Enterprise (CVN-65), although the latter was decommissioned when the USS Gerald R. Ford. It had not yet been launched.
